Boil Advisory – Water Main Break 7/28/2025

BOIL ADVISORY

MONDAY, JULY 28, 2025 The water main repair on Arlington Ave has been completed. Impacted residents should boil water as a precaution. Bring all water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing food to a boil. Boil for one minute and cool before using or use bottled water. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Tap water can be used for bathing and similar purposes. Public Works will collect and test two sets of water samples, taken at least 16 hours apart, to determine when the water is safe and the advisory can be lifted. The City of Van Meter will notify residents when the boil order is lifted. Notification will be on the City’s website, Facebook page, and posted at City Hall, the Van Meter Public Library, the Van Meter Post Office and Casey’s General Store. Contact Van Meter Public Works at (515) 996-2644 or info@vanmeteria.gov for more information. The boil advisory will be in place for at least the next 48 hours. Impacted residents include those on Arlington Ave.
