Recreation Complex

The Van Meter Recreation Complex is located on the north edge of town along the Raccoon River and offers two softball fields, two baseball fields, and four soccer fields, all with bleachers for spectators. Near the baseball and softball fields, concessions and restrooms are available. The complex was constructed thanks to the hard work of the individuals who volunteered their time with the Van Meter Recreation Foundation.

Johnson Park

Johnson Park is located at the end of Division Avenue. The park is owned and operated by the City and offers a scenic landscape, 9 holes of disc golf, a sand volleyball court, and a playground for children.

Memorial Park (Pocket Park)

Memorial Park is located at the intersection of Grant Street and West Street. The park is operated by the City and was designed for family friendly activities as well as open space for community activities.

City Park

City Park is located on Grant Street just east of the Van Meter Public Library and offers playground equipment for children.

Trindle Park

Trindle Park is owned and maintained by Dallas County Conservation and is located in Van Meter at 3555 Richland Circle.

Trindle Park is a beautifully wooded, secluded park on the south edge of Van Meter, with a reservable shelter house, a playground, and modern restrooms.

The Shelter can be reserved for $35/day by calling 515-465-3577 or emailing them at conservation@dallascountyiowa.gov.

Park gates open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m.
