The City of Van Meter acquired the property located at 601 Main Street (and adjacent parcels) in the summer of 2024. This is the future home of the Van Meter Public Library, Van Meter Fire Department and Van Meter Police Department. 

After reviewing several Requests for Proposals, the City engaged Invision Architecture for design, architecture and engineering services relating to the proposed Municipal Building Project. The Invision Team, City of Van Meter Steering Committee, Fire/Police/Library User Groups and the Community Task Force have been working hard on developing a conceptual plan for the Municipal Building. The City is proposing that the building house:
